Cambio Canale (Mindell Process Work) is a technique of the Paret Method in the cnv category. It allows navigating the client's phenomenological experience by following the sensory and bodily channels through which the unconscious expresses itself, amplifying its intensity to the point of saturation, then migrating to the next channel where the process continues to manifest.
Definition
In the Paret Method, Cambio Canale represents the pragmatic evolution of Arnold Mindell's Process Work applied to the context of fascinazione and presenza non-verbal. It is not about interpreting or resolving a symptom, but rather following it through its natural expressive channels: voice, body, mental image, movement, relationship, breath. Each channel contains equivalent information; the shift from one channel to another represents the deepening of awareness in the client system.
When to use
- When the client presents an issue that gets stuck in a single expressive modality
- In CNV work where verbal communication creates resistance
- When affective saturation emerges in a specific channel and it is necessary to deflect toward new information
- In Hyperadvanced to develop the capacity for simultaneous two awarenesses
Components and steps
- Identification of the primary channel: Recognize where the experience manifests with greatest intensity (e.g., an inner voice)
- Amplification within the channel: Consciously intensify that modality until saturation is reached
- Monitoring saturation: Recognize the moment when the channel reaches its limit of useful information
- Permutation to the next channel: Guide attention toward the emerging modality (e.g., from inner voice → visualization of the source → bodily localization)
- Recursive tracking: Continue the process through the channels until phenomenological resolution is achieved
- Multi-channel integration: Allow the client to maintain simultaneous awareness of multiple channels
Distinctions
- vs Amplificazione somatica: Amplification is single-channel; Cambio Canale presupposes conscious migration between different modalities
- vs Two Awarenesses: Two Awarenesses maintains two channels simultaneously; Cambio Canale operates a progressive sequence

Notes
- [da confermare Marco] — specific contraindications in clients with severe dissociation
- Common mistake: interpreting the next channel instead of following it phenomenologically
- The process does not end when "the symptom disappears," but when awareness becomes homogeneous across channels
