Page title: Wiki Paret Method — Guide to the Translation System
Wikitext to translate:
This page explains how to use the translation system of the Paret Method wiki.
How the Translate extension works
The wiki uses the MediaWiki Translate extension — the same one used by Wikipedia and all Wikimedia projects.
The workflow is:
- An administrator prepares the page by adding translation tags
- The page is marked as "translatable" on Special:PageTranslation
- Translators receive the texts divided into units on Special:Translate
- Translations are approved and published automatically
- Each language has its own URL:
/wiki/Donato/en,/wiki/Donato/fr, etc.
Activated languages
The target languages for ISI-CNV are:
- it — Italian (original language)
- en — English
- fr — French
- es — Spanish
- pt — Portuguese
For translators
- Go to Special:Translate to see pages to translate
- Select the language and click on a unit to translate it
- No special account needed — any registered user can translate
For administrators
- Special:PageTranslation — management of translatable pages
- Special:LanguageStats — translation progress statistics
- Special:MessageGroupStats — status by page group
Technical notes
The system uses the Universal Language Selector (ULS) — the language selector appears at the top right in the personal bar. Clicking it changes the interface language and shows available translations for each page.
Google indexing: each language version has its own canonical URL and is indexed separately. Pages translated at 100% are indexed normally; partially translated pages show the original text for missing parts.
