Tecnica Salamini — Induzione con la Luce/en

The Salamini Technique is a method of instant hypnotic induction taught in the ISI-CNV system, derived from the practice of Sergio Salamini and developed by Marco Paret in the «Salamini modified Paret» variant.

The method is documented in ISI-CNV training slides (presentation «SALAMINI PARET - PT» and «avance fr», ISI-CNV Drive) and is taught as a distinct technique compared to other direct fascination methods of the school.

Fundamental characteristic: the light

The basic principle of the Salamini Technique is the use of a light source as an initial fixation point. The light is considered a very powerful accelerator: «This induction after preliminary tests (magnetic passes) is extremely powerful — the light acts on the mind.»

This characteristic clearly distinguishes it from Donato's direct fascination (which uses the operator-subject gaze) and from the Ball of Light (which uses continuous fascination): in the Salamini Technique, the initial vector is the external light, not the direct gaze.

The 7 phases from the ISI-CNV slides

The ISI-CNV training presentation (slides «avance fr», 2017) describes the technique in 7 phases:

Phase 1 — Orthostatic position + light

The subject is standing (orthostatic position). They are asked to look at a light source positioned slightly higher than their head, focusing only on the light and nothing else in the surroundings. The operator also looks at the light for a certain time: this helps the internal mental preparation and the inner «absorption» of the operator.

Phase 2 — Hyperventilation

The subject is told to «open the mouth and breathe» — an invitation to light hyperventilation that increases physiological sensitivity and reduces cognitive resistance.

Phase 3 — Command: «Follow my hand» and up-down movement

The operator gives the command «Follow my hand!» and moves it up and down in front of the subject — a simple directive command that hooks motor attention and directs it.

Phase 4 — Magnetic passes and light touches

The «passes» — movements along the body without touching it — are performed. A light touch in the neck area (not on the soft part, but in the area like a collar) and on the front shoulders. The left hand passes lightly behind the nape of the neck, in the cerebellum area. These touches verify the degree of relaxation.

Phase 5 — Disordered and contradictory commands

A series of short, disordered, contradictory commands creates mental confusion. Cognitive overload further lowers voluntary defenses.

Phase 6 — Mental confusion + shock

The moment of «shock» — a sudden gesture or command that interrupts conscious processing. It is the equivalent of Donato's «ébranlement»: the nervous jolt that opens the door to trance.

Phase 7 — Fall to the ground

The subject is guided to the ground: the operator's hand on the forehead gently guides them down saying «let yourself go — relax — surrender». With the other hand, the eyes are closed. Once on the ground, the subject can naturally deepen the trance.

The variant: Indução com luz (Salamini modificado Paret)

The presentation «SALAMINI PARET - PT» (in Portuguese, for the Brazilian market) describes the same technique with some operational clarifications:

The standing subject looks at the light positioned slightly higher than them. The operator also focuses on the light to prepare mentally. After «open your mouth and breathe», the magnetic passes are performed without touching the body, with possible pressure in the neck area (like a collar) and on the front shoulders. The left hand passes lightly behind the nape of the neck towards the cerebellum area to monitor relaxation. When the subject is yielding, they are guided to the ground.

The operational note is significant: «Live training is recommended to understand this dynamic and the passes along the body, as it is difficult to understand them only in writing.»

Differences from the standard ISI-CNV method

The Salamini Technique differs from the standard direct fascination method in:

  • The use of external light as an initial anchor point instead of direct gaze
  • The use of hyperventilation (open mouth + breathing) as physiological preparation
  • The magnetic passes along the body (passes) as a structural element — not present in pure fascination
  • The controlled fall as an explicit final phase
  • The confusion + shock sequence as a resistance bypass mechanism
