Speaking with Presence is a fundamental technique of the Paret Method in the presence category. It consists of uttering a phrase while simultaneously maintaining awareness of one's own body, generating a qualitative transformation of the voice that becomes more centered, clear, and magnetically compelling.
Definition
In the Paret method, "Speaking with Presence" represents the integration between verbal content and the conscious bodily state. It is not simply about pronouncing words, but rather anchoring oneself to the verticality of one's body—to the spine and the gravitational axis—while communicating. This dual focus (internal bodily and external communicative) generates a quality of presence that immediately modifies the interlocutor's perception, regardless of the semantic content. The voice acquires a natural and centered resonance, a faithful reflection of internal stability.
When it is used
This technique finds application in contexts where credibility, influence, and personal magnetism are decisive:
- Professional communication and public presentations
- Negotiations and power interactions
- Development of personal magnetism and hypnotic presence
- Foundational exercises in building the Armor of Light
- Preparation for advanced non-verbal fascination techniques
Components and steps
- Vertical grounding: Bring awareness to one's verticality, particularly the spine and the sky-earth axis. This balances the body system and activates the organ of balance.
- Conscious breathing: Stabilize the breath in the deep center of the body, creating a solid energetic foundation.
- Choice of phrase: Select a simple phrase (ideally 2-5 words).
- Conscious pronunciation: Say the phrase while simultaneously maintaining awareness of the body and verticality, without losing the internal anchor.
- Observation of vocal transformation: Notice how the voice naturally changes in clarity, tone, and resonance without effort.
- Repeated calibration: Repeat with variations until the state is stabilized.
Distinctions
- vs Classical rhetorical techniques: It does not concern verbal persuasion or argumentation techniques, but rather the modification of the bodily state of consciousness that precedes and supports speech.
- vs Silent meditation: It explicitly includes the communicative and verbal component, creating a bridge between internal awareness and external projection.
- vs Traditional Ericksonian hypnosis: In the Paret method, the emphasis is on physical verticality and awareness of the bodily self, not on metaphorical guidance or reframing.

Notes
- The transformative effect on the voice is direct and perceptible: even minimal changes in bodily awareness produce immediate and measurable results.
- Common mistake: attempting to voluntarily modify the vocal tone. The voice changes as a consequence of bodily awareness, not through muscular effort.
- This technique lays the foundation for the development of quantum techniques and advanced magnetic projection in the Paret method.
