Audiovisual Observatory (Osservatorio audiovisivo)

Da Wiki Progetto di Ricerca Metodo Paret.

The Audiovisual Observatory (Osservatorio audiovisivo) is the filmed-observation archive of the Mesmerismus Research Institute: recordings of courses and demonstrations of non-verbal hypnosis made from 2011 to 2026, within more than thirty years of practice. Film allows responses that last only seconds to be seen again, slowly and many times.

Figures

The figures are those of the Observatory's catalogue as of 26 October 2026, and count only the institute's own recordings.

  • Over 2,100 hours of recorded courses and demonstrations (2011–2026), counting each recording once.
  • Over 20,000 catalogued videos.
  • Recordings made in at least 11 countries.
  • 1,099 episodes coded so far, each describing a phenomenon observed during a course or demonstration.

Cataloguing

The archive is catalogued phenomenologically, which means describing what can be seen before interpreting it. Each sequence is indexed by the visible response, the technique used and its context, so that similar responses can be compared across years and people.

Metadata rule

Only descriptive metadata and aggregate figures are published: no faces, voices or names. The recordings remain in the archive and enter a study only where the people filmed have given consent that covers that use.
