L'Ipnosi dalla A alla Zeta — Il Libro di Di Pisa/en

Da Wiki Progetto di Ricerca Metodo Paret.

Hypnosis from A to Z (subtitle: Course in Practical Hypno-Magnetism) is the main book by Erminio Di Pisa. It is one of the fundamental texts of the Italian hypnotic tradition and one of the sources of the Method Paret.

The book carries two souls: the slow techniques of Maestro Dante Caravelli and the fast and instantaneous techniques of Di Pisa. It was written to fulfill the dream of Caravelli, who passed away in 1977 before he could publish his work.

Structure of the book

The volume covers in succession:

  • Training exercises and development of personal magnetism
  • Hypnosis in the waking state (partial hypnosis)
  • Complete hypnosis and methods to induce it
  • Hypnosis with mechanical procedures
  • Traditional states: catalepsy, lethargy, anesthesia
  • Stigmatization and ecstasy
  • Hypnosis on animals
  • Hypnosis in medicine
  • Physical magnetism with distance hypnosis
  • Splitting techniques to exit the physical body
  • How to predict the future
  • The hypnotic techniques of the great masters
  • Hypnosis for sales and commerce
  • Astrology, diet, and precious stones for magnetism

As Di Pisa writes in the introduction:

"It will serve both the beginner and the established hypnotist, who will find new and unpublished techniques such as instant hypnosis. Let it not remain just paper and ink, but a means to discover new principles, new paths for the practical hypno-magnetism of the future."
— Erminio Di Pisa, Hypnosis from A to Z

The two hands: Caravelli and Di Pisa

The key to reading the book is the distinction between the two traditions it carries:

  • Slow techniques (Caravelli imprint): progressive inductions, pendulum, work on gradual sensitivity
  • Fast techniques (Di Pisa imprint): instantaneous fascination, rapid magnetism, hypnosis in three steps

The great masters cited

Di Pisa cites and documents several historical masters:

  • Maestro Dante Caravelli — his direct teacher
  • Dr. Enrico Ceccarelli — great hypnotist from Siena, of whom he includes an audio cassette of hypnosis at the Regio di Parma (1978)
  • Webb — cited among the methods for collective hypnosis in theater
  • Caravelli, Di Pisa — indicated as the triad for mass hypnosis: Webb, Ceccarelli, Di Pisa methods
