L'energia segreta della mente (2009) is the foundational theoretical work of Marco Paret. It is the book in which Marco Paret presents, in Italian, the synthesis of his method within its complete hermetic-magnetic-initiatic framework: it is not a manual of techniques (for techniques see The Magnetic Gaze (Paret 2011)), but the theoretical formulation of the path that the Paret Method articulates and traverses.

For the ISI-CNV wiki cluster, it is the most important book-page because:

Marco Paret explicitly declares his traditional sources — Fedeli d'Amore (Dante), Gruppo di Ur (Reghini under the pseudonym Pietro Negri), operative alchemy (De Pharmaco Catholico), Italian hermetic tradition (Reghini-Evola)
The afterword is by Jean-Pierre Giudicelli de Cressac Bachelerie himself — who publicly recognizes the Paret path as a path of Awakening. This is the formal recognition (from one of the custodians of the contemporary European operative initiatic tradition) that the Paret Method is not merely therapeutic magnetism but a path of Awakening within the documented initiatic tradition
The book declares the central operative key on p. 220: «la presenza all'istante ne è sia la prima che l'ultima chiave» — a formulation identical to the Giudicelli criterion of the Doctrine du Corps Immortel (II preparatory stage: «presa di coscienza dell'istante presente»)
On p. 227 it enunciates the profile of the realized man — a formulation that Giudicelli himself, in the afterword, identifies as «attitudine interiore, non fenomeno esteriore»

The programmatic incipit

Direct quotation from the introduction (p. ~5-6):

«La nostra finalità è coniugare passato e presente, di modo da rendere le saggezze eterne attuabili per l'uomo d'oggi e collegarle anche alla moderna scienza quantistica. La tradizione occidentale è derivata storicamente dagli Egizi che l'hanno elaborata, è stata trasmessa ai Greci e ai Romani e perpetuata segretamente in seguito da vari gruppi, tra i più noti dei quali citiamo ad esempio i "Fedeli d'Amore" (un gruppo a cui appartenne anche Dante Alighieri), e da altri ancora. Queste linee di pensiero sono ancora sotterraneamente vive nonostante secoli di dominio di un pensiero che si è allontanato gradatamente da quello che è veramente importante e verticale per spingersi verso una orizzontalità sempre più manifesta.»

And immediately after:

«La vera crescita dell'uomo avviene in un'altra direzione, nella verticalità, che è la vera chiave nascosta per manifestare i potenziali dormienti all'interno di tutti noi.»

This is the declaration of intent of the book: to place its work within the vertical initiatic tradition (Fedeli d'Amore, Hermeticism, Egyptian-Greco-Roman tradition) against the horizontal thought of modernity. «Verticalità» is the operative key-term of the entire book.

Structure

The book is structured as follows:

Preface (by Marco Paret himself) — the traditional framework
Introduction — verticality as the path, transmitted oral techniques
Main theoretical part — articulated in ~150 operative sections (the analysis of the extracted file counts 150 sub-headers). Main thematic areas:
- Verticality and the four elements (static and dynamic)
- The endocrine system as an instrument (gonads, thyroid, adrenals, respiratory system)
- Exercises of presence (presence to the body, presence to the heart, presence to the mirror — pivotal exercise 33)
- The transmutation of emotions as substances — perfect parallel with the third Giudicelli phase of the Doctrine du Corps Immortel
- The active principle (D) and the passive principle (A) — operative pair
- Hermetic vocal aspects — the practice of sounds (OM/ON, see below)

The operative key: «la presenza all'istante» (p. 220)

[VERIFIED p. 220] The cardinal operative principle of the book:

«La presenza all'istante ne è sia la prima che l'ultima chiave»

(cited in the afterword by Giudicelli himself as «la chiave di questo orientamento interno»)

This formulation is identical to the Giudicelli principle of the Doctrine du Corps Immortel (II preparatory stage): «la presa di coscienza dell'istante presente» as a technical prerequisite (not moral, not conceptual) for access to the subsequent phases of work on the Immortal Body.

Presence in the instant is simultaneously:

Initial practice (like Buddhist sati, the foundation of the work)
Final practice (as recognition of Awakening already here, not elsewhere)

Marco Paret unites the two dimensions in a unified technical formulation: «sia la prima che l'ultima chiave».

The profile of the realized man (p. 227)

[VERIFIED l. 8412-8420 direct OCR] Quotation of the passage that Giudicelli defines in the afterword as «attitudine interiore, non fenomeno esteriore»:

«L'uomo deve essere in pratica padrone di sé, e il suo atteggiamento esterno non è, come molti immaginano, quello di un invasato morso dalla tarantola che devasta mezzo mondo. È quella di un uomo calmo, sempre uguale a se stesso, né pavido né borioso. Ha uno sguardo diritto e sicuro, parla lentamente e la sua voce è piena; dice, se è il caso, "non lo so" e "chiedo scusa". Ha un'aspetto elegante ma non affettato. Il suo discorso è esatto, preciso, privo di fronzoli superflui. Non ama criticare gli altri, bada [alla propria opera].»

This is the portrait of the sahaja-siddha of the Tantric tradition, of the differenziato of Evola, of the mature Sufi of the Sufi paths, of the Kremmerzian-Giudicellian immortal adept. Realization is not an exceptional state but the man «sempre uguale a se stesso», with a sguardo diritto e sicuro — fascination and magnetism, for the realized person, are not special techniques but a natural consequence of alignment.

The afterword by Giudicelli

[VERIFIED pp. ~270-272] Significant excerpts:

«Il professor Marco Paret ha osato avventurarsi in un'opera complessa. Profondo conoscitore dei vari rami della psicologia, ha saputo collegarli ad altre discipline scientifiche, spesso ignorate dal mondo moderno, ma legittimate dalla fisica quantistica. Tra i vari argomenti, l'autore focalizza l'attenzione sul magnetismo e sul simbolismo.
Si tratta di un libro fortemente innovativo per una principale ragione, che da sola giustificherebbe già un interessamento. In effetti, una dimensione etica ed una prassi iniziatica — entrambe sottintese — sono non solamente suggerite, ma enunciate formalmente.
[...]
Infine, la via del Risveglio viene evocata attraverso una prassi rigorosa. A pag. 220, l'autore fornisce la chiave di questo orientamento interno: "la presenza all'istante ne è sia la prima che l'ultima chiave". In tal modo, il professor Marco Paret imbocca il percorso delle arti marziali tradizionali (Aikido, Judo, Karate-do), e le vie artigianali del sufismo (come la tessitura dei tappeti) attraverso il controllo mentale, l'abolizione del futuro e del passato, l'adozione del solo reale che noi possiamo pensare di possedere: l'istante, chiave fondamentale che ci permette, secondo la tradizione, di ottenere il risveglio sulla terra, unica ragione della nostra incarnazione terrestre»

This is the explicit recognition that — in light of the operative tradition of which Giudicelli is a custodian — the Paret Method belongs to the path of Awakening and is not simply therapeutic magnetism or psychological technique. The «reintegrazione del momento presente» is declared «vera ricerca del Graal» — an explicit connection with the Grail cycle of the European initiatic tradition (Il Mistero del Graal secondo Evola, I Fedeli dAmore, Stretta Osservanza Templare).

The pivotal exercise: OM/ON and global stimulation

[VERIFIED p. ~5-6 of the theoretical part and attached file articolo ON] One of the key exercises of the book, also presented in the working file articolo ON which is exactly an excerpt from the book:

«Sappiamo come ogni nota musicale stimola fisiologicamente in maniera differente la mente. Quando creiamo un suono che è somma di tutte le armonie, possiamo quindi suscitare una "stimolazione globale". [...] il mantra indiano OM comprende la consonante nasale M. Il suono M è un suono composito, contenente al suo interno tutte le vibrazioni. [...] i Greci chiamavano ON ("ciò che è" in greco) il cielo superiore.»

The operative exercise (Global Sound Exercise):

With a metronome in action, pronounce the sound OM (or ON while simultaneously thinking of the idea of vastness) slowly — without coordinating it rationally with the metronome, but following your own rhythm
Note that, precisely when you pronounce the consonant «M» or «N», a sensation (slight at first) of temporal slowing is activated
This temporal slowing is the sign of global physiological stimulation of the brain (nasal sounds contain all harmonics)
At the end of the exercise, a sense of calm is experienced
OM or ON can also be pronounced on other occasions and, over time, the sense of inner calm is strengthened

This exercise is the operative basis of the work on the voie des sons documented in the wiki cluster, and connects directly to the work on the three cinnabar fields (humid corporeal path).
