Mask Elimination (mirror) is a technique of the Paret Method in the presence category aimed at recognizing and dissolving psychological stratifications and social masks through direct mirror observation, integrated with breathing protocols and conscious fusion/defusion work.
Definition
The technique is based on the principle that psychological masks (defensive constructs, crystallized roles, inauthentic personae) constitute obstacles to authentic presence and natural magnetism. Through mirror work and specific breathing techniques of the Paret Method, the practitioner develops the ability to see successive layers of themselves and to progressively defuse from false identities. This process restores congruence between the person's authentic core and their external manifestation.
When to use
- Advanced presence and authenticity work
- Development of personal coherence and natural magnetism
- Preparation for higher-level hierarchic techniques
- Integration of conscious fusion/defusion states
- Enhancement of the capacity for hieratic presence
Components and steps
- Positioning and mirror observation: the practitioner positions themselves in front of the mirror in a state of respiratory calm, observing their own image without judgment
- Recognition of the primary mask: conscious identification of the prevalent social/psychological role in that phase of life
- Defusion breathing protocol: application of specific Paret Method breaths [to be confirmed by Marco] to create distance between the observing self and the mask
- Search for successive layers: progressive penetration in depth through recursive awareness questions
- Conscious fusion with the authentic core: integration between the observer and the authentic essence underlying the masks
- Anchoring the transformation: stabilization of the new quality of presence through reiteration exercises
Distinctions
- vs Conscious Mirror: [[to be confirmed by Marco] — difference in terms of objective and depth of work]
- vs standard cognitive defusion techniques: the Paret technique integrates magnetic and hierarchic components absent in conventional methodologies
Courses where it is taught
- Trainer Canto Grande — foundational presence level
- Iperadvanced Ibiuna Day 4 — technical deepening and advanced integrations
Notes
- The work is most effective when practiced in states of parasympathetic rest; it is not recommended in conditions of hyperactivation
- Multiple masks require successive sessions; do not attempt complete defusions in a single practice
- The technique presupposes a stable foundation of awareness and grounding from the Paret Method
