Lafontaine Induction (classic seated induction) is a technique of the Paret Method in the magnetism category, constituting one of the fundamental protocols of seated magnetic induction based on controlled physical contact and the transmission of presence.

Definition

The Lafontaine Induction is a magnetic induction performed in a seated position, where the operator and subject face each other with direct tactile contact. The technique involves placing the thumbs against each other or in the subject's palms, generating a magnetic transfer field through which the operator transmits non-verbal hypnotic command and stabilizes the altered state.

In the Paret Method, this technique represents the hieratic and quantum evolution of the classic Mesmerian protocol, integrated with modern principles of fascination and magnetic presence.

When to use

  • Primary induction in a seated clinical context
  • One-to-one sessions requiring controlled direct contact
  • Rapid stabilization of the magnetic trance state
  • Work on the transmission of presence between operator and client
  • Educational contexts for teaching applied magnetism

Components and steps

  1. Frontal positioning: operator and subject seated face to face at a calibrated distance
  2. Initial contact of the thumbs against each other, or placement of the thumbs in the subject's palms
  3. Stabilization of magnetic presence through respiratory calibration and non-verbal anchoring
  4. Transmission of the hypnotic command through the tactile channel
  5. Deepening of the altered state with intensification of magnetic contact
  6. Closure and anchoring of the induced state [to be confirmed by Marco]

Distinctions

  • vs classic verbal induction: the Lafontaine Induction favors the non-verbal channel and tangible magnetic transfer
  • vs distance techniques: requires direct physical contact as a vector of magnetic transmission
  • vs Elman Induction: historiographical correction: this technique belongs to the Lafontaine tradition, not Elman, although sharing a seated structure

Courses where it is taught

  • Trascritti IT pratica ipnosi
  • Advanced lesson (Paret Method)

Notes

  • Corrected terminological error: in the Italian transcripts it was erroneously called "Mesmer's goodnight"; it is properly a Lafontaine technique
  • Enhanced effectiveness when the operator possesses a stable calibration of magnetic presence
  • Not indicated for subjects with aversion to tactile contact; in that case, use a distance variant [to be confirmed by Marco]
