The Tuileur is — in the tradition of Freemasonry — the manual that succinctly describes the ritual characteristics of a degree: symbols, decorations, sacred words, passwords, signs, attire. For the Arcana Arcanorum of the Rite of Misraïm according to the Régime of Naples, there exists an official Tuileur of the four last degrees (87, 88, 89, 90) — the 4ème Série, 17ème classe, i.e., the highest and most reserved section of the ritual scale. The Rombauts-Mallinger document preserves its detail. This page reports it with documentary honesty.

The first three degrees (87-89) describe three planes that compose themselves — Macrocosm, Microcosm, Mediation between the two. The 90th is the fulfillment: the unitary consciousness that encloses and transfigures the three preceding planes.

Degree 87th — Philosophical Unity with the Cosmos

[VERIFIED] Decorations — the three Temples. The degree requires three consecutive Temples (it is a dynamic degree, traversing three phases):

Black Temple — lit by a single candle, veiled by a dark lantern. It is the starting point: unmanifested matter, chaos before creation.
Green Temple — lit by three torches. It is the intermediate phase: vegetation appearing on emerged lands when chaos gives way to an organized Cosmos; green is hope, and «vegetation carries within itself the hope of summer harvests and autumn fruits». The manuscript notes: «the initiate is an homme de désir, i.e., of hope in a just destiny for his life». The three torches symbolize «the vivifying effluence that runs through the entire Cosmos on the 3 planes: material, astral, and spiritual».
Red (violet) Temple — lit by 36 × 2 = 72 candles. It is the fulfillment: «the cosmic work is complete when the cosmic fire permanently generates its seeds of life and launches souls onto the earth». Here the initiate «becomes radiant and pours out a beneficial radiation onto others. He burns with goodness, charity, altruism. Zelus tuus devoravit me».

[VERIFIED] Symbolism. Only the third Temple brings to the East the Symbol of the Divinity: a luminous Triangle bearing the symbolic Tetraktys.

[VERIFIED] Words and signs:

Battery: a single blow (the sole cosmic harmony)

[VERIFIED] Operative meaning (manuscript commentary): «The 87th degree teaches the initiate to place himself in his natural framework, the Macrocosm; to perceive its evolution (from chaos to order, and from black to red passing through green); to grasp its Unity and to live in Unity with everything that lives around us and within us. One must stretch one's arms towards the Light and resonate with the Divine Life in the Universe».

[VERIFIED] Pythagorean numerology: «the 72 candles form 2 groups of 36 fires. There are two squares to illuminate: the one representing the body and the one representing the soul. 36 is the number of the Great Pythagorean Tetraktys, because it comprises the cube of 1 (=1), the cube of 2 (=8), and the cube of 3 (=27); 1 + 8 + 27 = 36».

Degree 88th — Microcosm

[VERIFIED] Decorations. The Temple is oval in shape, its tapestries sea green in color.

[VERIFIED] Symbol. A Radiant Sun — designated in Greek as Helios-aktinas-ballôn (the Sun that casts rays).

[VERIFIED] Words and signs:

Battery: from the hand, 3 equal blows (* * *)
Sacred word: ZAÔ (in Greek: «I live»)
Passwords: Balbek (i.e., Heliopolis, city of the Sun)
Sign: called the sign of reflection — open the left hand on the forehead above the left eyebrow
Grip: take each other by the arms in a chain of union
Cordon: blue, to be embroidered with S. 88°

[VERIFIED] Operative meaning: «the brilliant Sun at the center of an oval world recalls our place in manifested Nature. Everything germinates there, everything is green, everything is called to a greater perfection; but beware, one must not be dazzled by too bright a light; Truth does not shine in a single flash; it is on the contrary a progressive science that is gently assimilated with prudence and wisdom. Hence the sign of reflection».

Important note: the manuscript adds — a central point for the wiki — «the Illuminati of Bavaria equally adopt this symbolic sign at the opening of their Minerval degree and this sign is the first part of the secret sign of the Martinists». The sign is therefore a ritual bridge between Misraïm-Naples, the Illuminati of Weishaupt, and Martinism.

[VERIFIED] The Blue Mantle that the adept dons in this degree is «at once a barrier» (protection) and an emblem of the astral-celestial dimension in which he now operates.

Degree 89th — of the Grand-Œuvre, Mediator

[VERIFIED] Decorations. Red Temple.

[VERIFIED] Degree: «of the Mediator, i.e., the living Link between the Visible and the Invisible, through the mediation of celestial spirits». Here the ritual opens to explicit theurgic practice.

[VERIFIED] Words and signs:

Password: Ouriel (i.e., Hèphaistos / Vulcan)
Sacred word: Iehovah (i.e., Zeus)
Sign called the sign of intrepidity: mutually touch the heart with the middle finger of the right hand
Watchword: «Mon cœur ne tremble pas» (My heart does not tremble)
Vestment: White mantle, red-fire cordon bordered with black

Degree 90th — Souverain Absolu

[VERIFIED] Decorations. Temple of round shape, representing «the lands of the universe and our world».

[VERIFIED] Degree: Souverain Absolu, Chef de la 4ème Série (degrees 78-90) of the Consistoire de la Sagesse Suprême.

[VERIFIED] Words and signs:

Password: Sophia (Wisdom)
Sacred words: say "Osiris" after hearing "Isis" — the reconstituted Egyptian divine couple
Acclamation: 3 × Fiat
Vestment: Apron and cords white. On the apron, paint: the moon, the Sun, 7 planets, a winged egg, a palm tree on the left and a ladder on the right. On the cordon, paint: the moon, the Sun, 7 stars, the Ouroboros (serpent biting its tail), Janus (two-faced), two joined hands, and the words «Rien au-delà; Paix aux hommes»
Secret seal: in the center, a triangle with a point in the center; a Pythagorean Ypsilon forming rays emanating from the triangle; the whole within a square, contained within another square, the whole within a triple circle

The 90th is the degree of fulfillment: it gathers all Egyptian-Pythagorean cosmology (the winged egg as a symbol of the first cosmic birth, Ouroboros as eternal return, Janus as passage between worlds) and leads it back to a single formula of universal peace.

The Doctrinal Teaching: the Synthesis of the Manuscript

[VERIFIED] Citing Jean-Marie Ragon (Cours philosophiques de la franc-maçonnerie, 1844), the Rombauts manuscript doctrinally frames the 4 degrees as «the point of fulfillment of Masonic initiation», where the initiate progresses step by step:

from the Cosmos (87th: Macrocosm)
to man (88th: Microcosm)
to mediation between the two (89th: Celestial spirits, Iehovah/Zeus)
to the absolute sovereignty of one who has reconstituted the primordial Isis-Osiris Dyad within himself (90th)

This is the operative synthesis of the Arcana Arcanorum: the three paths of Giudicelli (Héraklès / Christ-Orphée / Osiris-Dionysos, cf. Arcana Arcanorum) are here reunified into a single progressive scale, because whoever the candidate's personal archetype may be, the fulfillment remains the same: the absolute sovereignty that says «Osiris» after hearing «Isis» — the King who rises from his death, guarded by the Widow.

The Tuileur directly confirms the link: Helios-aktinas-ballôn in the 88th degree, ZAÔ as a sacred word ("I live") are voices of power worked vocally. The practice of IAO is precisely the vocal axis that these rituals use in the opening of the Temple.

Relative to the line of Naples

This Tuileur is the ritual of the Régime of Naples entrusted to Papus for the French Memphis-Misraïm (cf. Kremmerz e Ordine Osirideo Egizio sect. III: «the degrees of the Scala di Napoli 87, 88, 89, 90 were entrusted to the Memphis-Misraïm»). The Rombauts-Mallinger filiation (Belgian Egyptian Center 1930) is one of its documented transmissions.

Relative to the chivalric pole

The 89th degree — «Mon cœur ne tremble pas» as a watchword, the sign of intrepidity — is the chivalric dimension of the Arcana Arcanorum. The heart that does not tremble is the posture of the initiatic knight: neither in external combat, nor in the internal passage between the visible and the invisible.
