Oculomotor Blockage is a technique of the Method Paret in the hypnosis category. It consists of the controlled blocking of eye movements, with the eyes oriented upward under the eyelids, in order to induce a deep hypnotic state through the mechanism of oculomotor fixity.

Definition

Oculomotor Blockage represents a non-verbal hypnotic induction technique that exploits the blocking of ocular mobility as a catalyst for the altered state of consciousness. In the Paret method, this blockage is not merely physical but represents an intervention on the structure of presence and on the modulation of the subject's neurological state. The technique produces a natural immobilization of the eyes under the eyelids, creating the conditions for the onset of deep hypnotic phenomena such as catalepsy and dissociation.

When to use

  • Direct hypnotic induction in individual therapeutic sessions
  • Rapid induction of deep trance states in short protocols
  • Creation of catalepsy as a basis for subsequent therapeutic interventions
  • Contexts where a fast and defined hypnotic response is needed
  • [to be confirmed by Marco]: applicability in group sessions

Components and steps

  1. Initial fixation of the client's gaze on a specific point
  2. Progressive guidance of the gaze upward through presence and non-verbal command
  3. Maintaining the gaze in an elevated position under the eyelids
  4. Stabilization of the oculomotor block through magnetic modulation
  5. Deepening of the hypnotic state through magnetic voice or magnetic passes
  6. Consolidation of the trance through [to be confirmed by Marco]

Distinctions

  • vs Taurus: Taurus is based on breath and specific instructions to induce rapid somnambulism; Oculomotor Blockage exploits oculomotor fixity as the primary mechanism
  • vs Magnetic Falls: Magnetic Falls use movement and energetic fall; Oculomotor Blockage operates through ocular immobility
  • vs Arkeos: [to be confirmed by Marco]

Courses where it is taught

Notes

  • The technique is single and indivisible: it must not be fragmented or combined with elements extraneous to the Paret protocol
  • Requires precise calibration of presence and control of the practitioner's energetic modulation
  • [to be confirmed by Marco]: specific contraindications in subjects with oculomotor disorders or phobia of fixed gaze
