Self Perception is a technique of the Method Paret in the transversal category. It represents the conscious contact with one's own vital structure through the integrated perception of the three domains of the human being: physical, emotional, and mental, according to the triadic vision of the hermetic philosophy and operative alchemy.

Definition

Self Perception is the process of reconnecting with oneself through the sensitization of the Vital force and the interruption of involuntary mental dialogue. It is not traditional psychological introspection, but rather a corporeal and sensory practice that restores contact with one's own magnetic presence. It is fundamental for developing presence and fascination in the Paret method, since the operator cannot exert magnetic influence if they are not aware of their own vital structure.

When to use it

  • As a preliminary exercise at the beginning of mesmeric practice, to stabilize the operator's perception
  • In the training of Method Paret students, particularly in Week 1
  • As an anchor during the practice of non-verbal magnetism
  • In the recovery of corporeality in contexts of energy work and hermetic hypnosis [to be confirmed by Marco]

Components and steps

  1. Interruption of mental dialogue: exercise of halting the mental dialogue to silence the ordinary mind
  2. Sensory sensitization: awareness of physical sensations and the emotional sphere (soul sensations)
  3. Contact with the Vital force: perception of the vital force that integrates the three domains (mental/pneuma, emotional/soul, physical/body)
  4. Anchoring of the mental decision: the mental sphere makes a conscious decision based on sensations and bodily memories
  5. Stabilization of Presence: maintaining the state of integrated awareness without mental effort
  6. Non-verbal verification: feedback on the magnetic quality achieved through somatic and hypnotic reactions

Distinctions

  • vs Kontakt mit Natur: Self Perception is interior (contact with oneself), while Kontakt mit Natur is exterior (contact with the vital force of nature)
  • vs Traditional Meditation: Self Perception is not contemplation, but an operative practice of recovering corporeality according to the hermetic and alchemical tradition
  • vs Unconscious work: Self Perception brings awareness back into the physical and emotional body, not dissociation into the Freudian "subconscious" [to be confirmed by Marco]

Courses where it is taught

Notes

  • The exercise requires regular practice to stabilize; it is not a technique to be learned intellectually
  • A common mistake is to confuse Self Perception with relaxation or Buddhist meditation; here the vital contact is active and decisive
  • Prerequisite for any advanced non-verbal magnetic work in the Method Paret
