Ipnodrama (9-step sequence) is a technique of the Method Paret in the hypnosis category that integrates non-verbal induction, magnetic catalepsy, and body symbolism into a structured progression of nine phases, aimed at generating a deep and transformative hypnotic state through the deliberate sequence of crisis and the hero's journey.

Definition

Ipnodrama represents a complex methodology developed within the context of the Method Paret that combines non-verbal fascination techniques with dramaturgical and somatic elements. Unlike linear verbal hypnosis, this sequence uses points of light focus, sound waves, progressive catalepsy, and active observation of the subject's spontaneous reactions as navigation tools of the altered state. The technique culminates in an experience of symbolic rebirth where the body becomes a text for reading and transformation.

When to use

Ipnodrama is indicated in contexts where the following is necessary:

  • A deep transformation rooted in the soma
  • Access to unconscious resources through controlled crisis
  • Symbolic re-signification of traumas or structural blocks
  • Work with subjects with high hypnotic responsiveness

It requires an operator in an advanced state and a consenting client prepared for inner dramatization.

Components and steps

  1. Light point concentration – Visual focus on a luminous point to capture attention
  2. Non-verbal induction – Use of proxemics, gestures, gaze without verbal instructions
  3. Sounds, waves, whispers – Rhythmic and modulated acoustic stimulation
  4. Hand catalepsy – Voluntary fixation of the hands (optional, depth test)
  5. Observation of spontaneous reactions – Non-interpretive reading of bodily responses
  6. Deep/magnetic catalepsy – Somatic immobilization induced by operator presence
  7. Crisis – Controlled provocation of emotional or somatic discharge
  8. Hero's journey – Internal symbolic narrative guided by the operator
  9. Body symbolism – Subject autonomously completes the somatic re-codification

Distinctions

  • vs Rapid Induction Paret: Ipnodrama is a complex multi-phase sequence while the rapid induction is an accelerated tool for accessing the state
  • vs Magnetic Catalepsy: Here catalepsy is an intermediate stage, not the final goal; the focus is the post-crisis symbolic journey

Courses where it is taught

  • Trainer Russky – Day 1 [to be confirmed by Marco - access and full program]

Notes

  • Technique reserved for advanced operators: requires mastery of somatic reading and management of hypnotic crisis
  • The crisis in step 7 is not psychopathological but intentional cathartic; differentiate from iatrogenic reactions
  • [to be confirmed by Marco] – Specific contraindications regarding dissociative disorders or epilepsy
